Are you free range?
No, I keep the pigs in very well insulated buildings. They are snug in winter and cool in summer.
Are you Organic?
No, it costs a huge amount to be organic and I can see no benefit, especially as the customer would have to pay a lot more for the produce.
What is your policy to keeping pigs?
I believe with a passion in science. We humans have a far better quality of life because of science and we live longer and healthier lives because of science. The same applies to the animal kingdom.
Be more specific.
Prevention is far better than cure. I make sure that the pigs have had an immunisation programme. (We humans have benefited greatly from immunisation programmes.)
The pigs live in clean pens and have access to clean high quality cereal diet, clean water, and clean straw at all times. Cleanliness is the basis of good environmental health science.
